MG launched two new variants in Hector lineup- Shine Pro and Select Pro.

MG Motor India launched its two new variants in Hector line-up called “Shine Pro and Select Pro”. These cars sit in middle of the range with starting price of Rs.16 lakhs (ex-showroom) and Rs. 17.30 lakhs respectively. The Hector has fulfilled a lot of expectations of the British marque and also got much popularity since its launch in the Indian domestic market.

The MG Motors has not changed in appearance, drivetrain and size but it has added new features in its latest model. Let’s delve into these updates.

New Features: MG Hector Shine Pro and Select Pro

The new versions of the Hector come with stylish chrome exterior door handles, sleek LED blade-connected taillamps, eye-catching floating light turn indicators, and powerful projector headlamps. In particular, the Select Pro model stands out with its impressive 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and expansive dual-pane panoramic sunroof. Meanwhile, the Shine Pro variant rides on elegant 17-inch silver alloy wheels and features a convenient single-pane electric sunroof.

Step inside the cabin, and you’ll find a sophisticated brushed metal surface, a comfortable leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a sleek all-black interior theme. These models also offer modern conveniences like a wireless phone charger, a large 14-inch HD portrait infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a crisp 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster.

Furthermore, they boast advanced features such as a segment-first digital Bluetooth key, push-button engine start/stop with a smart key, and key-sharing functionality, setting them apart in their segment.

In terms of safety features, the latest variants are outfitted with follow-me-home headlamps, cornering front fog lamps, ABS, EBD, front and rear defoggers, speed-sensing auto door locks, ISOFIX child seat anchors, electronic stability programs (ESP), hill hold control (HAC), traction control systems (TCS), brake assist, and cruise control.

MG Hector Powertrain Options

When considering engine choices, the Hector offers both diesel and petrol options. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 141bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the 2.0-litre diesel engine generates 168bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. CVT transmission is exclusive to turbo-petrol engines, while a six-speed transmission is standard across the range.
