BYD’s recently launched premium brand, Yangwang, has unveiled its latest luxury Sedan, the Yangwang U7. The U7 marks the 3rd production car of Yangwang brand. The company claims it to be a high-performance vehicle that can outperform the BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE. It is equipped with four petrol engines generating a total of 1,000hp and boasts impressive aerodynamic efficiency with a drag coefficient of 0.195Cd.

The BYD U7 is a four-door luxury Sedan built on BYD’s e4 platform the same foundation supporting the Yangwang U8 SUV and U9 supercar.
The Yangwang U7 sedan is considered a family member within BYD’s production lineup, as its structure, design, and stylish aesthetics align with those of other BYD cars.
Yangwang U7 Features:
According to a post on its official WeChat channel, Yangwang mentioned that the U7 achieves over 1,000hp through its four electric motors. It’s currently unclear whether this four-wheel-drive sedan will adopt a range-extender powertrain like the U8 or a pure-electric one similar to the U9.
The U8’s REx system merges a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with four electric motors and a 49.1kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a total of 1,195hp. Meanwhile, the U9 utilizes an EV drivetrain featuring four electric motors combined with a 100kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, resulting in a combined output of 1,114hp.

BYD announced that the new Yangwang flagship will have a starting price exceeding ¥1 million (approximately Rs 1.2 crore) in China.
